The Silver Angels Grandparent Association (or SAGPA for short) consists of a dedicated group of grandparents who work with and provide support to the school community.

Mission

The Silver Angels Grandparent Association promotes the spiritual, educational, physical and cultural welfare of the students of Holy Family Catholic School. We work with and provide support to the faculty and staff, the Board of Directors, and as appropriate, the Blue Angel Parent Association in the maintenance and growth of the school as a Christ-centered educational institution.

Volunteer Opportunities

For more information about joining the activities of the SAGPA, please contact Fernando and Beatriz Rey, Presidents, at 713-409-2645 or SilverAngels@holyfamilycs.org.

Coffee & Kleenex

What better group to console parents on the 1st day of school than grandparents eagerly waiting for them ready with a warm smile, Kleenex, coffee, and pastries? It’s an annual favorite, and many parents gather to visit and share summer stories.

Eat-N-Treat

Hosted by the Parent Association, grandparents assist in providing a spooktacular meal for our little goblins before trick-or-treating on Halloween night.

Book Fair

In November, grandparent volunteers are essential in preparing for and working our Book Fair.  The fair lasts a full week and culminates with Grandparent’s Day.

Grandparents Day

This day holds special significance as we gather to recognize the important role of grandparents in our families and school community. We begin the day with Mass, followed by classroom visits and refreshments. A favorite activity includes the grandparents working with their grandchildren to make a small craft item that can be shared within the broader community for local nursing homes or food banks.

Run with the Angels

It’s always fun to watch our angels run! And whenever they do, they always need a drink of cool water, warmly supplied by grandparents.  We are always there with an encouraging word, which is greatly appreciated by our grandchildren trying to earn money for their school while they run.
