In 1993, a Catholic school in far northwest Austin was merely a good intention.  Parents and parishioners wished for a closer option for their children's Catholic education in rapidly growing Travis and Williamson counties. By 1997, their prayerful efforts had coalesced into a plan.  One summer night, it was time to select a name, one that would convey the faith-filled mission.

Board members discussed each nomination from the community.  They quickly selected Holy Family to signify the family of parishes coming together to accomplish a purpose they could not achieve individually.  The first mission statement reflected that the name also pointed to the centrality of the family in a child's education.

Since that time, our school has been under the protection of the Holy Family.  This compilation of smiling faces, memories, evolving history, and cherished traditions celebrates 25 years of answered prayers.

Like the Child Jesus, our students have been our reason for being, the children of God that call us to our highest endeavor.  Like Mary, thousands of professionals, clergy, parents, grandparents, and other volunteers have been the nurturers of children seeking their fullest development.  Like Joseph, key individuals have answered the call with knowledge and dedication as the caretakers of the vision, shepherding the initial plans, providing resources for their realization over time, and ensuring sustainability and growth.

Holy Family Catholic School is now a treasured institution grown from 158 students in eight portable buildings on a borrowed acre at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Cedar Park, to a flagship school in the Diocese of Austin with over 600 students on a beautiful 20-acre campus where children grow in knowledge, wisdom, and grace.
