Holocaust Remembrance Day

January 27, 2025
By Susan Laielli

Today, January 27, is Holocaust Remembrance Day, and this year marks the 80th year since the end of World War II and the Holocaust. Holy Family's Librarian Dr. Verity Kahn held a one-day exhibit on Holocaust artwork that was destroyed and/or saved during the Holocaust.
This day is meant for people across the globe to remember the millions of Jewish people, and people from other backgrounds, who were killed by the Nazis during World War II. It is held on Jan. 27, because this is when the largest Nazi concentration camp, Auschwitz-Birkenau, was liberated in 1945.
