Ash Wednesday Calls Us to Prayer, Fasting, and Almsgiving

On this Ash Wednesday, the Holy Family Catholic School community gathered to mark the beginning of Lent during a Mass celebrated by Very Rev. Chris Downey, Diocese of Austin Vicar for Priests, joined by Deacon Robert Tavarez.
Students, faculty, staff, and parents received ashes as a reminder to turn our hearts back to the Lord and prepare for the joy of Easter. During the homily, we were reminded of the three pillars of Lent: prayer, fasting, and almsgiving.
