We are very fortunate to have a large number of volunteers that assist us throughout the year.  In order to ensure the safety of our students, all persons who volunteer at school in any capacity must first complete the online-application and attend a workshop.  It is a diocesan policy that anyone who serves in ministry to minors or vulnerable adults must have completed a criminal records check and attended an Ethics and Integrity in Ministry (EIM) workshop.  The U. S. Conference of Catholic Bishops maintains auditing processes for all dioceses in the country to monitor our efforts to comply with the Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People.

The workshop must be retaken every three years.  Non-staff adults who have documented completion of the process will be issued a badge upon request from the school office, which must be worn at all times when volunteering on campus.  The directive from the Diocese of Austin mentions many categories of volunteers affected by the policy, including youth ministry volunteers, classroom volunteers, leaders and volunteers of Catholic boy and girl scout troops, anyone serving in a program for minors that is hosted on school property, anyone transporting minors in vehicles, and anyone who fills a one-time need in ministry to minors or vulnerable adults.
