Parent Association Executive Officers

Our school enjoys the active and enthusiastic support of a Parent Association that helps to promote the spiritual, educational, physical and cultural welfare of the children of Holy Family Catholic School through the coordination of volunteers and the promotions of school fundraising activities. The PA believes as parents we can demonstrate the importance of Holy Family Catholic School and the act of stewardship is to our children by actively volunteering our time and talents to the school community. The PA also strongly encourages parents to integrate themselves in the wonderful community at Holy Family Catholic School by getting involved with the PA. If you are interested in volunteering, no time or talent gift is too small, please email the committee chairs or PA officers below. 

 

P A Executive Committee for 2017-2018:

The duties of the Executive Committee are:

  • To transact necessary business in the intervals between monthly meetings of the PA and such other business as may be referred to it by the PA.
  • To appoint and oversee work of the standing committees
  • To create and oversee work of special committees
  • To present a report at each regular meeting of the PA

President - Monica Odom

  • Presides at all general meetings of the PA and of its Executive Committee and is an ex-officio member of all committees except the nomination committee.

Vice President - May Nguyen Mitchell

  • In the absence of the President shall perform all duties of the President, in addition performs any necessary duties delegated by the president and functions as the Parliamentarian during meetings. Also the main communication point for all service committee chairs.

Treasurer - Tricia Swan

  • Receives all monies of the PA, and keeps accurate record of the receipts and expenditures. Obtains check request and deposit forms as needed and pays funds out as authorized by the PA and when requested by the Executive Committee. Financial reports shall be prepared for the Executive Committee and for the schools accountant on a monthly basis.

Secretary - Amanda Pillsbury

  • Records the minutes at all PA meetings and of its Executive Committee. Responsible for the correspondence of the PA and performs duties as requested by the Executive Committee.

Service Committee Chairs:

Room Parent Coordinator- Alicia Derbez and Laurie Canare

  • The liaison between parents, teachers, administration, committee service chairs and the PA for classroom activities/needs and service to the school.

Health - Jennifer Tajchman and Clarisse Roquemore

  • Schedules and conducts required hearing, vision, diabetes and spinal screening throughout the year and first aid assistance at school events.

Book Fair/Library - Melissa Madison 

  • Provides volunteers to help set-up and staff the annual Book Fair. Volunteers also assist in the library during classroom library time.

Liturgy - Monique & Mike Urtado, and Kristen Brown

  • Assists with preparing for weekly Mass and returns items after each service.

Lunch Program - Rocio Silveyra

  • Delivers pre-ordered lunch to students 3-4 days per week.

Morning Supervision - Shelly Mikosh

  • Safely assists children from their cars during morning drop-off.

PrayerVictoria Foyt and Jaydee Perales

  • Meets on Friday mornings to pray the rosary for our school community.

Staff Appreciation - Ellen Miri

  • Plans activities to express parent support and appreciation to the faculty and staff.

Uniform Resale - Shannon Vaughn and Danna Kelemen

  • Prepares for and works the annual Uniform Resales.

Community Partners - Allen Christy

  • Organize and implement approved programs that raise money for the school.

 

Fundraising Committee Chairs:

Choir of Angels - MIke and Renee Blood

  • This annual appeal takes place in the fall. Volunteers will be needed to communicate with classroom parents regarding Choir of Angels participation.

Gala - Kelli Witt and Shanalee Sharboneau

  • Volunteers are needed for entertainment, silent auction, live auction, decorations, audio visual, website/multimedia, signage, class projects, check-in/out and publicity. 

Run with the Angels - Stacy Brown and Bridget Clark 

  • Volunteers will be needed for the day of the event to assist with set-up and take down, registration, passing out waters and monitoring the runners.
