For families interested in enrolling their students to Holy Family Catholic School, we encourage them to attend one of our parent-only Information Sessions to learn about our school and admission process as well as tour the campus.
Admission season officially begins in November each year when we mail application packets to families who have filled out the Online Inquiry Form. Parents may fill out the Online Inquiry Form as early as January of the year before their child would enroll at Holy Family (ie: January, 2010 for the 2011-2012 school year).
Admission applications are typically due the first week of February. Students who meet this deadline will be considered in the first round of admission. Click HERE for a complete Application Checklist for the 2010-2011 school year. Students must have all paperwork completed for their files to be reviewed. Families will be notified by mid-March of their admission or wait pool status. After that time, we will continue to communicate with families in the wait pool as openings become available. Families that have been offered acceptance must return their Acceptance Form along with a check for the New Student Fee and the Annual Fee to the school office by the end of March. Tuition and fees for the 2010-2011 school year will be posted online by the end of January.
Admission Criteria
When evaluating students for enrollment, there are several criteria that we asses. Students must first meet the age requirements set forth by the Texas Catholic Conference Education Department (TCCED). By September 1st of the corresponding year, students must be 4 years of age to enter Pre-Kindergarten, 5 years of age to enter Kindergarten, and 6 years of age to enter First Grade. No exceptions are made to this rule.
It is important to us to meet the needs of every child we serve. In order to ensure that this happens, we review application information, report cards, test scores and teacher evaluations to asses proficient academic performance and responsible behavior and self-discipline. For students entering Kindergarten, developmental readiness screening takes place to examine their developmental readiness for entering that school year.
Priority in admission is first given to returning students, followed by their siblings who wish to enroll. We make every effort to ensure all children from the same family have placement if available. Parish membership is the third priority in the admission process. Parishioners who meet the criteria of their pastors from one of our seven supporting parishes have priority followed by parishioners from other Catholic parishes and non-Catholic families.
Holy Family Catholic School will comply with all applicable state and federal laws on discrimination. Our doors are open to children of all faiths.
