Tuition Assistance Program
The community that has worked for the creation of Holy Family Catholic School is committed to offering a chance at a Catholic education to as many students as possible. Establishing a tuition assistance program was one of the first projects that the Board of Directors undertook. Unlike a parish-owned school, Holy Family Catholic School must be self-sufficient for our annual operating costs. As a result, we have to place some limits on the total funds available for tuition assistance. In an effort to keep the award process both fair and confidential, the Board of Directors contracts with an outside company for the analysis of financial need.
Private School Aid Service (PSAS) has been specializing in need analysis for private grade schools and high schools for over 25 years. The PSAS Need Analysis System provides an objective and standard evaluation, resulting in a realistic idea of how much each family can contribute toward tuition costs. The income and assets of the family are taken into account, as well as the size of the family, extraordinary expenses, age of the parents, the number of children attending tuition charging schools, the state and/or metropolitan area where the family resides, the value of parents’ assets, and the number of working parents, as well as child care costs.
The procedure for applying for tuition assistance is as follows:
-
Complete the application online www.psas.org/onlineapp.aspx or call the school office for a paper copy. HFCS's authorization code is 1251. Attach your entire Federal Tax Return and W2 forms from all employers.
-
A processing fee of $19.00 is required when you send in your application.
-
By May 10 Send your confidential form, the attachments and a check for $19.00 to PSAS in Ohio to arrive on or before May 15.
-
By June 25 Expect to hear the results of your application by June 25.
-
