Meet our Faculty 2008-2009

Theresa Bernhard earned a B.S. in Elementary Education from Texas Christian University and has taught for seven years.  She is a parishioner at St. William Parish.

Peggy Castro has a B.S. in Early Childhood from Appalachian State in North Carolina. She has over twenty-two years experience and is a parishioner of St. Elizabeth Parish.

Gretchen Champion completed a B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies - Early Childhood Education at Texas State University and has seven years experience. She is a parishioner at St. Vincent de Paul Parish.

Lisa Dailey earned a B.S. in Elementary Education from the University of Texas. She has over thirteen years experience. She is a parishioner at St. Vincent de Paul Parish.

Annette Davis is completing a degree in psychology at St. Edward’s University and  has three years of teaching experience. She is a parishioner at St. Vincent de Paul Parish.

Teresa Hinkel obtained a B.S. in Elementary Education from Newman University (formerly Kansas Newman College) and has over eighteen years of experience. She is a parishioner at St. John Vianney Parish.

Christine Holmes holds a B.S. in Elementary Education from Stephen F. Austin State University and has over eight years of experience. She is a parishioner at St. Thomas More Parish.

Antoinette Houston obtained a B.S. in Health Science from the University of Utah and an M.A. in Private School Administration from the University of San Francisco.  She has over twenty-five years experience in ministry to Catholic education. She is a parishioner at St. Vincent de Paul Parish.

Julie Keegan earned a B.S. in Physical Education from Texas A&M. She has over sixteen years of experience. She is a parishioner at St. Vincent de Paul Parish.

Donald Kenner holds a B.A. in History and a Master’s in Library Science, both from University of Texas and has over six years of experience. He is a parishioner at St. Mary Cathedral Parish.

Gloria King has a B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas A&M University and three years experience. She is a parishioner at St. Vincent de Paul Parish.

Tracy Lake has a B.A. in Music from California State University at Long Beach and a M.Ed. in Instructional Technology from American Intercontinental University and has over eight years of experience. She is a parishioner at St. Vincent de Paul Parish.

Jeanne Lyman graduated from McMurry University with a Bachelor of Science in Multidisciplinary Studies and has over ten years of experience.  She is a parishioner at St. Margaret Mary Parish.

Annie McCauslin has a B.S. in Elementary Education from the University of Houston and has seven years experience.  She is a parishioner at St. Albert the Great Parish.

Juan Molina, Jr. has a B.A. in Kinesiology from St. Edward’s University and has five years of experience. He is a parishioner at St. Louis Parish.  

Heather Nguyen has a B.S. in Elementary Education from the University of Oklahoma and has thirteen years of experience (including two earlier years at HFCS). She is a parishioner at St. William Parish.

Patricia Pafumi has a B.A. in Special Education from St. Joseph's College in New York and an M.A. in Liberal Studies from State University of New York in Stony Brook and has over thirteen years experience.  She is a parishioner at St. Margaret Mary Parish.

Laura Peyton has a B.F.A in Art History and an M.A. in Art Education, both from University of Texas and has over six years of experience.  She is a parishioner at St. Mary Cathedral Parish.

Cameron Phelan has a B.A. in Elem. Ed. from Saint Mary’s College in Notre Dame, Indiana and has six years of experience.  She is a parishioner at St. Thomas More Parish.

Nancy Phillips has a B.A. in Psychology from UT-Austin and a M.Ed. from Texas State (formerly SWTSU) and  has three years of experience.  She is a parishioner at St. Mary, Our Lady of the Lake Parish.

Rosa Luz Noguera holds a degree in Pre-School Education from the University of San Buenaventura in Bogata, Columbia and has over eleven years of experience. She is a parishioner at St. William Parish.

Judy Schlumbrecht earned a B.S. in Business Administration from St. Mary's Dominican College in New Orleans and has over fourteen years of experience.  She is a parishioner at St. Helen's Parish.

Dennis Smiley has over twenty-five years experience. He holds a B.S. in Secondary Education from McMurry College in Abilene and an M.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies from University of North Texas.

Carol Swiatek has a B.S. in Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with over twenty-five years experience.  She is a parishioner at St. Helen's Parish.

Sylvie Thompson obtained a B.A. in French from University of North Texas and has over eighteen years experience.  She is a parishioner at St. John Vianney Parish.

Keith Youngpeter has a B.A. in Education from Miami University of Ohio.  He has over twenty-five years experience and attends Holy Trinity Parish in Corn Hill.

Hal McCarty or a member of his staff serves our students six to nine hours per week as a visiting band instructor.

Adminstration

Kelly Laster has a B.S. in Education Curriculum and Instruction from Texas A&M and an M. Ed in Language and Literacy Education from the University of Texas. She has seven years teaching experience plus six years as assistant principal and is a parishioner at St. Margaret Mary. Mrs. Laster’s responsibilities as assistant principal are instructional supervision and all issues related to health and safety.

Dr. Joan Wagner holds a B.S. in Secondary Education from Texas Tech University and a Masters and Doctorate of Philosophy Degree in Education from Texas Women’s University.  She holds certification in Administration, Regular Education, Special Education and Early Childhood.  She has over 30 years experience as an educator, including 17 years as a Catholic school principal, and has been the Director of a Diocesan summer program for gifted students.  As principal, Dr. Wagner is the contact for curriculum, all personal matters, and all matters related to student academic success and student behavior.
